Fagus Sylvatica is more commonly known as the Common Beech. The beech tree is one of the largest most majestic trees that are native to Europe. It has a low branch habit so can become very large. The leaves of the common beech are yellow and green in the Spring changing through to a rusty-red colour in the Autumn. It's trunk looks smooth and elegant amongst a woodland background. It makes a superb hedge or screening as its dense green foliage holds well and even the brown leaves will hang on until there is new foliage so makes good year-round screening.
