Ilex aquifolium is more commonly known as English Holly. English holly can be grown as a clipped bush, specimen tree or hedge. There are dozens of different varieties. This one has dark glossy green leaves covering the entire bush, these are variegated. The female plant will produce red berries in the Winter through to Spring. Both sexes of this bush are required to grow these however.
This bush is versatile and reliant, growing in any moist but well drained soil and either shade or sun. The berries may cause a mild upset if ingested to animal or human.
