Wood Bettony is another more common name for Stachys. 'Hummelo'. This beautiful perennial has a striking look. Bright green square shaped stiff stalks are topped with bright hot pink flower spikes. These are underpinned by glossy green, heart shaped, evergreen foliage. The brightly coloured spires provide an abundant amount of nectar to attract wildlife. Creating the blossoms in mid to late Summer it then goes on the bloom for several weeks. Known for its sun-loving quality it would be great used in sunny spots but will tolerate shade. These can also be used as a great addition to any cut flower bouquet looking best with two or three together.
