Prunus laur. 'Otto Luyken' is more commonly known as the Cherry Laurel. This is a compact evergreen laurel suitable for a range of growing situations. It can be planted in any moist but well-drained soil and in full or partial shade. This shrub consists of dark green, glossy, narrow but upward facing foliage. These surround long stems of white delicate flowers in the spring months, soon after flowering tiny, red and black berries grow, these are attractive to a large variety of birds. Virtually disease and pest free but keep an eye for vine weevil and powdery mildews.
