ALS Mushroom compost is a cost-effective way to improve soil condition. It is made by blending farm straw and rotted manure and composting them until they form a rich, friable compost. Once the mushroom crop has been harvested, this compost is steam sterilised so that it will not transfer any weed seeds or pests to your project.
For general soil improvement a 50mm layer should be spread over the area to be treated, then forked or rotavated in. A 75mm layer could be considered with very poor soils.

Please Note: Mushroom Compost is a by-product of the mushroom growing industry. Whilst we test the material regularly, Arbour Landscape Solutions does not produce the mushroom compost directly and as such cannot ever guarantee the ingredient, chemical or nutrient composition found in the compost. Mushroom Compost is a natural product, and its colours and textures will vary depending how fresh the compost is. Fresh mushroom compost is lighter in colour with more visible straw which will darken and decompose naturally. During the Spring rush, Mushroom Compost will be fresher and more straw like in appearance.
