Western Red Cedar Shingles make an ideal roofing material. These shingles are lightweight, aesthetically pleasing and practical. After weathering they will adopt a pleasant silvery grey shade. Cedar is naturally insect & rot resistant requiring no further treatment and sourced from sustainable forests in Western Canada.

All cedar timber boards should be fixed with stainless steel or bronze alloy fixings because the natural tannins in the board will corrode iron, galvanised and aluminium fixings.
Suitable fixings are 30/32mm annular ring nails in stainless steel or copper. Under no circumstances should galvanised, bright steel or aluminium fixings be used. Each shingle should be fixed with two nails. As a rule of thumb 1kg of nails will be required for every 4 bundles of shingles
Bundles of Western red cedar shingles start life as a mass of mixed pink and ‘reddy’ brown taper sawn boards. These shingles will tone down naturally to a silver-grey finish.
Western Red Cedar Ridges, 5m run per pack.
In addition to cedar shingles we also supply a range of other cedar timber products, cedar ridges & cladding. We are a supplier for Owatrol Oils purchase here.
