Idyllic Outdoor Retreats At RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is one of the biggest events in the landscaping calendar and MD Richard Bickler was lucky enough to spend a full day at the show, spotting garden design trends and marvelling at the skills involved in creating such a wide array of outdoor spaces.

Not least on Richard’s ‘must see’ list was the impressive display of garden buildings from Scotts of Thrapston.

Heritage brand, Scotts started business over a century ago when founder James Scott first commissioned skilled craftspeople to build high-quality agricultural buildings. Fast forward to today and the company is revered for its range of traditionally styled, hard crafted, luxury timber summerhouses.

2024 marked the 60th year of Scotts of Thrapston exhibiting at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Richard was delighted to learn that they had earned a 5 star trade stand award for their display of summerhouses.

Arbour Landscape Solutions were pleased to be invited to supply paving materials for the stand which was designed and installed by Landscape Concepts from Northamptonshire. Tom Garlick from Landscape Concepts chose our Meli Dark Grey Paving with Sinai Pearl Grey Limestone Square Setts to compliment the beautiful summerhouses and exquisite planting on display.

Richard popped along to the stand to congratulate the team on their award and to admire the layout and design of the stand.  He was most impressed with the quality and the presentation of the buildings. Interior design is of course an important element of landscaping, particularly when it comes to dressing summerhouses, poolhouses, outdoor kitchens and garden offices, and for this stand, it was clear that standards were very high indeed.

The Newhaven Corner Summerhouse, Burghley Summerhouse and Sun Ray Garden Room on display at Chelsea had been dressed by the award winning designer Diana Irving, founder and creative director of Marblehead Home who had skilfully enhanced the luxurious finish of these garden buildings with elegant colour schemes and furnishings.
