Family Garden In Marlow

Project Type: domestic back garden
We've all seen how a home renovation project can temporarily take all of the charm out of a garden. Well, in this project, Mark Wakely and the team from Freshscapes have complimented a newly renovated house with a stunning garden transformation. We love the materials combo in this garden.

Brief
A Family Friendly Garden With A Strict Deadline

Following an interior home renovation project by the very talented Ben Chivers, this family decided to bring the garden up to the same standard as the inside of their home. It's a South-West facing plot that enjoys full sun all day long but was looking a wee bit tired after being used to store building materials.
The family invited Freshscapes to design and build an attractive, usable space with plenty of room for their children to play.

Challenge
Narrow Access Created Challenges

Any landscaper reading this will be able to relate to Mark's challenges with access. The garden could only be reached via a narrow alley which of course meant moving materials and machinery in and out of the plot was tricky at times. But the experienced team met the challenge head on and work progressed smoothly.
Mark did tell us that the topography of the ground meant they needed to dig out quite a lot of soil in order to create the patio and paths.

Solution
A Fine Looking Garden And Happy Clients

Mark cites his biggest triumphs as being "how happy the clients were and how we managed to reconfigure the space to provide a more useable garden". However, we think he's being a little modest.
The high standard of installation shines through in this project as does the talent involved in designing the layout. It may be simple, but the use of contrasting textures and colours is a feast for the eyes and we're sure that the family will be enjoying this space for a very long time to come.
