Brief
Refurbishing Hard Landscaping

This detached victorian property is in Harrow, London and has a generous 250 square metre back garden. The garden was well maintained and clearly well loved, but after 40 years of living in the house, the owners felt that the hard landscaping needed a makeover.

Drainage issues needed to be addressed. As well as a new patio, the clients asked for a herringbone soakaway, a new irrigation system, a new lawn and lighting.

Challenge
Rain (and flooding) stopped play

London clay is well known for being difficult when wet, but this site was affected to the extreme. The garden slopes towards the house. After a week's worth of heavy rain, the whole patio area was flooded.

Emil and his team had to pump for two days to get the water out. We can only imagine how good it felt to pour the concrete slab once the waters had subsided.

Solution
Stylish Patio with Built in Planters

Home Park Gardens have done a fantastic job of this garden. They've created a contemporary patio which perfectly blends with the style of this 150 year old property. Jura Grey porcelain paving has been laid to a really high standard and co-ordinates beautifully with the rendered planters and floating bench.
The new lawn complements the established planting and is the ideal finishing touch to this very highly desirable garden.
