Brief
Update and extend the garden in keeping with the property

The clients have recently extended their home by adding an orangery, a kitchen extension and a beautiful garden room. This changed the proportions of the existing garden and left it looking a little tired.
Stonetree Landscapes were engaged to update the patio and garden to the rear of the house, extending the landscaped area, and creating a classic, formal English garden.

Challenge
Leicestershire clay soils make landscapers work harder

Ben and Sam's design involves some changes in levels, which as anyone who has ever worked with clay soils will know, has posed some challenges.
Substantial amounts of sticky soil have been removed. Drainage systems have been introduced and the site has made up with appropriate materials. Access here is limited - luckily the team can fit a digger through garden entrance but there is still limited space for storing loose bulk material.
Excellent timing for deliveries has been a key part of project management.

Solution
A work in progress

A the time of writing, work is still in progress but Sam and Ben have done a terrific job of creating a sunken patio with outdoor kitchen and eons of bespoke york stone.
The client strongly stipulated the use of local (ish) yorkstone in the project. to ensure that the products were absolutely to the client's taste Richard Bickler arranged for Sam, Ben and their client to visit the quarry and choose their own stone. Now that really is bespoke!
To make the very most of all of that beautiful stone, Richard also arranged an onsite demonstration of stone sealant. All part of the service from The Landscape Industry Specialists!
We'll be updating the photo gallery for this garden as work progresses. Please come back and take another look.
