Brief
Make the garden more interesting

Stuart Reid of Landscapes by Design in Billericay was invited by his client to bring more interest into their large garden.
Before Stuart's garden began, this garden was more or less a blank canvas. Largely featureless, other than extensive lawns, the owners asked for entertainment spaces and a more enticing journey from the house to the planned garden room.
An elegant look and feel was required to compliment the style of the property.

Challenge
Creating the design

The clients had approached the landscapers before engaging a garden designer and so Stuart's first action was to recommend Jenny Harley. Jenny and Stuart have worked together on several projects and he was confident that her design style and her manner would appeal to his clients.

Solution
Joined up features

Jenny's design includes a circular sunken seating area, a series of arches to define the journey to the garden room and clever use of silver birch trees to diffuse the wind.
All of the features use a combination of timber and sandstone to pick out and co-ordinate with the existing patio and, of course the house itself.
Stuart has created a bespoke drainage system for the circular seating area which enhances Jenny's design.
Work is still in progress - we'll have more pictures to share with you soon. But in the interim - congratulations to the Landscapes By Design team who have done a fantastic job so far!
