Meet John Wilkes From Europlanters

Europlanters are one of our industry’s best loved suppliers. And for good reason. The breathtaking array of colours, materials, sizes and styles in their range of planters means that there’s something to suit every project.

We’ve been lucky enough to have been supplied with some gorgeous cylinder planters for our Futurescape stand by the one and only John Wilkes, proud owner of Europlanters and landscape industry stalwart.

Here’s your chance to find out some of the secrets of Europlants success and get to find out what John does when he’s not at work.

What Was Your Inspiration To Start Europlanters?

I always wanted to have my own business and my work in fibre glass lead me to Europlanters which came up for sale before it was even a year old. I paid £10,000 for it with a turnover of around £50,000. This was in 1990, I was on my own for several months and now there are over 40 employees

What Do You Love About The Outdoor Living Industry?

I love to help bring a design concept to reality, whether it’s an architectural drawing or small courtyard sketch

What Is Your Favourite Project And Why? 

We’ve done so many large projects over the years but it’s got to be the floating park at Merchant Square 

What Do You Do In Your Spare Time?

I don’t have a lot of spare time, but when I do I enjoy playing golf, wildlife photography and walking Archie our dog.

Favourite Salty Snack And Drink Combo?

I love a good beer and a packet of dry roasted nuts any day!
