Wildflower Landscape 34 Turf

With 34 UK native wild flowers and grasses in the seedmix, Wildflower Landscape 34 creates a self-sufficient wildlife-friendly landscaping feature that requires very little annual maintenance.

Ideal for nutrient-poor soils, this product is fast becoming the go-to groundcovering for environmentally conscious landscapers and garden designers. 

Turf size will vary with application but is generally 1m x 0.64m = 0.64m2 slabbed OR 1.62m x 0.77m = 1.25m2 rolled per turf on pallets. Larger 2 x 20m (40m2) roll sizes are also available. They can each weigh between 750-900kgs each and need special machinery to offload and roll out on site.

Where to Grow Wildflower Landscape 34 – Soil Type and Aspect

• Best suited to ground applications. (For green roofing see our Wild Flower Roof Mats)
• Well-drained, nutrient-poor soil.
• Tolerates moderate shade.
• Once established, copes well with drought.

Please note: Whilst standard garden topsoil will support wildflowers the higher nutrient levels will tend to promote extra-strong growth in the grasses. To keep the species balance mainly floral, we recommend installing onto subsoil or Low Fertility Soil.

Key Points

• Flowering Time: March – October (depending on local weather conditions).
• Your wildflower matting will be mown before harvest so that plants are not damaged during transportation. The flowering plants will not be blooming when it is delivered
• Depending on the time of year it can take a few weeks for plants to establish, grow and start blooming. If you would like it to flower in its first summer we recommend installation before the end of March.
• Each of the species will respond differently to soil type, local weather conditions and care regimes. In fact the balance of species changes from year to year which means that your wildflower area will continue to fascinate you more with every season.
