It has evolved in collaboration with landscape and ecology professionals and has a number of properties that make it ideal for use in rain gardens, sustainable drainage systems and Bioswale applications

The 38 species of wildflowers and grasses in this product will tolerate changes in soil moisture, from drought to saturation.  Their root systems are great at breaking up pan or soil compaction to improve soil porosity and maximise water dispersal.

At the same time, this blend of species, having at least 50% wildflowers, is aesthetically pleasing and creates a biodiverse habitat which supports insects, amphibians, birds and mammals.

Every effort has been made in the production technique to minimise environmental impact.

Key Points

• Product weight: 18-20Kg depending on moisture content at harvest.
• Water well for the first 2-4 weeks after installation or until turf is well rooted.
• Flowering Time: March – September (depending on local weather conditions).
• Mow regularly throughout the growing season
• Your Wildflower SuDS Turf will be mown before harvest so that plants are not damaged during transportation. The flowering plants will not be blooming when it is delivered
• Depending on the time of year it can take a few weeks for plants to establish, grow and start blooming. If you would like it to flower in its first summer we recommend installing Wildflower SuDS Turf before the end of March.
• Each of the species will respond differently to soil type, local weather conditions and care regimes. In fact the balance of species changes from year to year which means that your wildflower area will continue to fascinate you more with every season.
